How Often Should You Clean Your Office?

Regular office cleaning is an important element of keeping a healthy workplace. It makes the workplace more enjoyable for employees and visitors while also lowering the danger of illness spreading. Keeping up with all the mess in a restaurant, office, or any other workspace is a challenging task! But how often should you clean, and could a professional cleaning service help you?
The frequency or regularity with which your office should be cleaned should be determined by a few factors:
People
How many people work in your company daily, including visitors, clients, and other people who may come and go. If you run a small business with only a few employees, you might be able to get away with a once-a-week cleaning.
Even if you simply have a few employees, bathrooms and any kitchen or food preparation areas should be cleaned at the end of each workday. A medium-sized office with 20 or so employees may require two or three cleanings per week. Large firms with a lot of employees will need to clean every day, if not more than once a day, especially in the restrooms and kitchen.
A restaurant or school must be cleaned daily for health and safety concerns, whereas a small workplace with only a few people can be cleaned less frequently. A more industrial business with fewer employees or visitors may not require daily cleaning in the workplaces, but any public spaces, such as reception areas or bathrooms, may require regular maintenance.
Budgeting or resourcing
If you have the resources to dedicate part-time or full-time cleaning workers, you can use them as often as you wish. You may have janitorial or custodial employees who can work on a roster to handle all necessary cleaning activities.
Otherwise, as often as your budget permits, you can consider hiring expert cleaners. A routine office or building clean should cover all main worker and client areas, whether you have your cleaning crew or hire commercial cleaners. Let's take a closer look at these:
Bathrooms: Bathrooms should be cleaned every day to prevent the spread of illness and to keep them sanitary. Crewcare, for example, will clean toilets and sinks, sanitize surfaces and doorknobs, resupply toilet paper and paper towels, and remove the trash. The floors will be washed and mopped as well.
Lobby or reception: This is the area that makes the initial image for your company, thus it must be clean and be in good condition. Every few days, it will need to be dusted and vacuumed, and any trash will need to be removed. Even small details, such as straightening out periodicals and books, can make a great difference!
Kitchens and break areas: To prevent the spread of germs, all food preparation sites must be well cleansed. Countertops, sinks, faucets, microwaves, and cabinet handles can all harbor and spread deadly foodborne pathogens. These should be sanitized at the end of each day to prevent illness from spreading among employees. To keep up with messes and spills, an office with a larger number of employees may need to hire a cleaner to clean these areas more than once a day.
Floor: Carpets tend to collect a lot of dust, dirt, and food crumbs. Particularly in high-traffic locations like communal areas, entranceways, and staff quarters. During the wet and muddy winter months, they can get very mucky.
Carpets should be vacuumed daily in busy workplaces and every few days in less busy offices. To keep filth at bay, sweep and wipe hardwood or linoleum flooring. Spills are also a health and safety risk if they aren't cleaned up, as they can cause slips and falls.
Windows: Windows do not need to be washed every week, but they should be cleaned regularly. This keeps your building looking nice and increases the life of the windows and timber. It is not required to wash windows during the wet winter months; in fact, it can be highly dangerous in poor weather. Depending on how dusty or pollen-prone your surroundings are, thorough cleaning at the start and/or end of summer is a reasonable rule of thumb.
